Natya Bharati  presented  FALL 2011 PRODUCTION

In collaboration with ICCR, the Embassy of India, Infinite Computer Solutions and APCA

Natya Bharati presented its Fall Production of 2011 on Sept. 24th, 30th, Oct. 1 & 2nd, presented 2 performances including new plays - 

These plays were directed by the well known film and theater actor & director Mr. Amol Palekar and Mrs. Sandhya Gokhale.  Yes, Mr. Palekar and his wife directed all 3 performances using all local cast. This was once in a lifetime opportunity for local theater enthusiasts to learn from a master of the art, a true professional and an ardent supporter of theater. These plays were staged in the Washington metro area and possibly will be shown in other locations in 2012.

New Committee

Natya Bharati's Board of Trustees are pleased to announce the selection of new Executive Committee for the next 3 years. The new Exec Committee is headed by the new President - Manoj Tiwari, a past Vice President. Manoj will lead the day to day operation of the group with the help of his team comprised of - Raju Iyer, Meera Narasimhan and Chetna Gola as Vice Presidents, Mitushi Raphael and Adarsh Gupta as Secretary and Joint Secretary, Sanjay Suri and Neeru Tandon as Treasurer and Joint Treasurer and Madhuri Subramaniam as Member-at-Large.

The Executive team is also assisted by a team of Advisroy Committee which is made up of - Pranav Pandya, Shimaliya Agnihotri, Mamta Kukreti, Subhojit Sen, Pushpa Dashottar, and Guneet Kaur.

Please help us welcome the new team.

 
New Membership Categories

In an effort to improve Natya Bharati’s ability to host quality theatrical productions, we are introducing two additional categories of membership - the Donor and the Patron. With more Patrons and Donors in our organization, we hope to achieve the financial basis required to plan and stage at least two high caliber productions in a year, and also plan other activities that would benefit the community at large. For details regarding the different membership categories, their corresponding privileges and the membership form, please visit the 'Membership' section of our website.

Newsflash

Following four successful performances in the Washington D.C metropolitan area, Natya Bharati presented Girish Karnad’s “Yayaati” at the First South Asian Theater Festival held at the George Street Playhouse in New Brunswick, NJ on the weekend of July 16th, 2006. Amol Palekar, the renowned stage and film actor from Mumbai was the chief guest. Over four hundred theater lovers attended the festival. The performance was very well received by the audience.
